Canonical, a well-known Linux system developer, together with the National University of Defense Technology and MIIT CSIP jointly held a press conference to announce the official release of UbuntuKylin 13.10 for the Chinese market.

The CCN Joint Innovation Lab is formed by Canonical, the Software and Integrated Circuit Promotion Center (CSIP) under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, and the National University of Defense Technology. CCN, in collaboration with the Chinese Ubuntu community, developed the UbuntuKylin system. It is reported that this version 13.10 includes a specially tailored experience designed for the Chinese market, offering Chinese OEMs the opportunity to provide localized experiences to Chinese computer users.

CCN officials stated that as an alternative operating system to Windows, UbuntuKylin is more user-centric. By providing various free and paid applications through the software center, along with specific programs and services customized by independent software vendors (ISVs), UbuntuKylin creates versions suitable for end-users.

UbuntuKylin is the officially recognized Chinese derivative of Ubuntu, aiming to provide users with a more China-oriented open-source operating system. Downloads are welcome, and any issues encountered during use can be reported to us via the UbuntuKylin Chinese Forum. We will promptly respond to your feedback to further improve the system and enhance the user experience.
