Ubuntu Community Manager Jono Bacon announced on the developers' mailing list that the next version of Ubuntu would be named Hardy Heron. This announcement resolved the recent wave of speculation and parody about Ubuntu's naming online, changing the name of the next version from the previously rumored "Hungry Hippo" to "Hardy Heron."
