Tinea pedis is an extremely common fungal infectious skin disease. 70-80% of adults have tinea pedis, it's just a matter of severity. It tends to worsen in the summer, improve in winter, and some people may not recover all year round.

Tinea pedis is the colloquial name for athlete's foot. Some people confuse "tinea pedis" with "beriberi", which is incorrect. Medically speaking, "beriberi" is a systemic disease caused by vitamin B deficiency, while "tinea pedis" is a common skin disease caused by fungal (also known as toxic fungus) infection. Foot washing basins and foot towels should be used separately to avoid spreading it to others. If tinea pedis is not treated in time, it can sometimes spread to other parts, such as causing hand fungus and nail fungus, and sometimes because of scratching, secondary bacterial infections can occur, leading to serious complications.
