According to foreign media reports, informed sources revealed that Microsoft began inviting relevant personnel to test Vista SP2 and Windows Server 2008 SP2 yesterday.

Earlier this week, we learned that Microsoft will release Vista SP2 and Windows Server 2008 SP2 before the launch of Windows 7. They also published a knowledge base article, numbered KB948465, to reserve a place for the upcoming Beta version.

It is reported that in Vista SP2, Microsoft will provide Windows Search 4 and wireless Bluetooth functionality (including the latest BT 2.1 patch), support for the latest VIA 64-bit CPU, as well as some other application compatibility updates. In Windows Server 2008 SP2, Microsoft will offer backward-compatible terminal service licensing keys and improve the management functions of DFS/FRS. The storage resource manager, print server, and print spooler for printers in both Vista and Server 2008 will see significant performance improvements.

"It is expected" that Microsoft will release the Beta versions of the two system SP2s within the next four weeks.
