The Baidu online trading platform has officially been named "Youa," and the domain name youa.com has already been registered. Earlier, Baidu invited ten thousand sellers to participate in the internal testing of the new platform. It is reported that Baidu will soon announce the official launch of the new online trading platform.
According to a person who closely follows domain registration, Baidu's business recruitment platform initiated two rounds of guessing votes regarding the platform's name and domain on September 24 and October 7. The name "Youa" did not appear in the first round of voting but was added to the candidate list on October 7. On that day, it was discovered that all corresponding domains for "Youa," including .com, .cn, .com.cn, .net, .cn, and .中国, had been protectively registered. Even some less common domains like .mobi, .cc, .hk, and .biz were not overlooked.
"The surrounding similar domains like baiduyoua with extensions such as .com, .cn, .com.cn, and .net have already been registered, and the registration times are all in October." This person believes that this is very much like a protective measure taken by Baidu before the network trading platform was announced. Such handling is basically standard practice among major internet companies.
Additionally, when attempting to register accounts containing words such as "youa," "有啊," or "有阿" on the Baidu platform, the system will prompt that "this username cannot be used," prohibiting ordinary users from registering and using these names.
The head of Baidu's E-commerce Division neither confirmed nor denied this, but stated: "The internal testing involving 10,000 merchants on Baidu's online trading platform is ongoing, and we believe the details of the new platform will be announced very soon."
