Not long ago, 56.com (also known as WoLe), which was awarded the "Most Unlucky Video Website" in Sohu IT's Internet Conference special feature called "Chinese Internet Company Selection", recently launched an SNS web game platform offering 71 web games.
After logging into WoLe, on the left side of "My Homepage," there is already a function to add and set up "My Components." The components offered by WoLe differ from those provided by Xiaonei and 51.com, as all of WoLe's components are web game (Web Game) plugins.
An investor of WoLe revealed that WoLe will abandon its video-sharing business and transition to a "Dynamic Album" service. "The one-month shutdown of WoLe was the direct reason for its transformation," the investor disclosed. "The fierce competition in the video-sharing sector also makes the outlook for WoLe less than optimistic. Another reason is that video-sharing websites currently have no profit model." On the upper right corner of WoLe's component platform, there is a promotion: "Invite friends to earn 100 game coins." An industry insider believes that making profits through the sale of game coins might be one way WoLe explores its new profit model after its transition.
Previously, another video-sharing website, Ku6.com, also launched web game services.
