After watching the movie "A World Without Thieves", I became particularly sensitive to the word "steal". Upon reflection, there are quite a few people in the Three Kingdoms who could "steal".
Stealing Halberds - Hu Che'er
One of the most famous thieves in the Three Kingdoms, he once stole a pair of precious short halberds from General Dian Wei's camp outside Wancheng and later sold the stolen goods to his accomplice Zhang Xiu. Because of his outstanding performance, it directly led to the death of the great general Dian Wei.
Stealing Horses - Hou Cheng
In Xiapi City, taking advantage of his position, he stole General Lu Bu's beloved red rabbit horse at midnight. Later, he used this horse to bribe Chancellor Cao, indirectly leading to the tragic death of the first great warrior of the Three Kingdoms, Lu Bu.
Stealing Books - Jiang Gan
Before the great battle of Chibi, he stole a top-secret document from the Eastern Wu camp and handed it over to Chancellor Cao for merit. But it was later proven that the so-called top-secret document was completely fake, resulting in a famous "miscarriage of justice" in the history of the Three Kingdoms, causing the deaths of two "loyal officials" Cai Mao and Zhang Yun.
Stealing Oranges - Lu Ji
As a teenager, he once stole several fine Guangdong honey oranges during a banquet at Lord Yuan Shu's residence and was caught on the spot by the crowd. Eventually, due to his young age, repentant behavior, and small amount of crime, he was exempted from criminal responsibility. However, because of his previous record, he was later exposed by Zhuge Liang during a heated debate with scholars, and was affectionately called "Lu Lang with the orange in his bosom".
Stealing Grain - Zhuge Liang
During the northern expedition to Central Plains, he pretended to be a ghost to attract the opponent's attention, but secretly ordered his subordinates to seize large amounts of winter wheat. Some people said that it wasn't called "stealing", as all the land belonged to the Wei kingdom; Wei's fields; Wei's seeds; Wei's wheat, not stealing but plundering.
Smuggling - Deng Ai
The earliest "snakehead" in Chinese history, he cleverly bypassed the border checkpoints of the Shu kingdom, smuggling a large number of armed personnel from Wei into Shu, successfully overthrowing the Shu regime.
Stealing Camp - Gan Ning
Originally a "brocade sail bandit", even after being incorporated into the regular army, he didn't fight properly but instead insisted on leading a hundred men to "steal" camps and raid stockades, fortunately without causing casualties on his side.
Sneak Attack - Lu Meng
In face-to-face combat, General Guan Yu was at least the "War Saint", how could he possibly win? So he had to wear mourning clothes (white clothes) and conduct a sneak attack from behind.
Adultery - Cao Cao
Why did Dian Wei die? Because his short halberds were stolen by Hu Che'er. Why did Hu Che'er steal them? Because Zhang Xiu wanted to rebel. Why did Zhang Xiu want to rebel? The fundamental reason was that Cao Cao had an extramarital affair with his aunt Zou!
Currently, I can only think of these 9, if anyone can help me add a few more to make up the "Top Ten Thieves of the Three Kingdoms", that would be great.
