On the evening of September 16, CCTV's News Broadcast reported that the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine had released the results of tests for melamine content in infant formula nationwide. Melamine was detected in products from 22 manufacturers across 69 batches, including brands like Sanlu, Yashili, Yili, Mengniu, and Nanshan, which were immediately ordered off the shelves. Thus, some well-known brands also became embroiled in the melamine scandal. According to reports by Hong Kong's South China Morning Post, as the "tainted milk powder" incident spread, thousands of mainland mothers rushed to Hong Kong to purchase foreign-produced milk powders. We believe that the domestic milk powder industry is highly likely to experience a major earthquake due to a loss of consumer trust.
