Under the Chiel River, below the Yin Mountains,
The sky is like a dome, covering all directions.
Vast and blue, the wilderness stretches far and wide,
As the wind bends the grass, herds of cattle and sheep come into view.
(Note: In modern translations, "见" which originally was pronounced "xiàn" meaning 'to appear' or 'to see', has been sometimes misinterpreted but its correct pronunciation in this context should reflect the appearance of cattle and sheep as the grass sways.)
