Epidemic Expansion
Liu Xingliang is the executive president of Internet Lab. He thought he was "immune" to all sorts of "viral marketing" SNS (social networking service) websites, but he still could not resist the bombardment of "invitations" from Kaixin001 and became one of its users.
Not long after he logged onto Kaixin001, he discovered that he had become a "slave" of a friend. Then he found himself being sold back and forth by his friends, "digging coal" at one moment and "being ridden on the street like a horse" at another.
It turned out that some things that would not happen in real life were also taking place on this website. For example, an old buddy suddenly "threw him a kiss", and a sister personally "gave him a back massage".
He and his friends have all fallen in love with this online social platform, Kaixin001, and their connections have thus been strengthened.
However, the developer of this platform is a young man who is not very talkative. His name is Cheng Binghao. In the eyes of his secretary Li Hui, he is a technically active member whose ideas are different from many people's and who sometimes even blushes when speaking.
But this shy Cheng Binghao managed to increase Kaixin001's user base from zero to more than 800,000 in just a few short months, capturing the attention of urban white-collar workers in an extremely short period of time and stirring up the entire SNS market once again.
In November last year, Cheng Binghao, vice general manager of enterprise services at Sina, and several colleagues resigned and founded Beijing Kaixinren Information Technology Co., Ltd., the operating company of Kaixin001. Currently, the website has fewer than 30 employees.
In May this year, Kaixin001's popularity and traffic began to soar. In August, its average daily page views reached more than 30 million, and its Alexa global ranking was around 400, while Xiaonei, China's largest SNS website, was only around 200.
