Lenovo spends 18 months in development to launch 4-core notebook

The ThinkPad W700 is a mobile workstation that comes with nearly 1TB of storage capacity and multimedia capabilities to match high-performance processors.

Liang Global Product Marketing Manager, Wes Williams, stated that the ThinkPad W700 is aimed at digital content creators who require higher graphic and data processing capabilities, and it took 18 months to develop. Lenovo launched the ThinkPad W500 earlier this year.

The ThinkPad W700 can be equipped with three 320GB hard drives, bringing its storage capacity close to 1TB. Users can also opt for a 64GB solid-state drive.

The ThinkPad W700 features an Intel Core 2 Extreme quad-core mobile processor, which has a clock speed of 2.53GHz and comes with 12MB of L2 cache. The ThinkPad W700 supports up to 8GB of memory.
