How to make money from doing forums

While at work in the morning, a friend sent me a private message on the forum about a potential project collaboration and suggested we continue the conversation by adding each other on QQ. The person was in the cosmetics business and hoped to promote their products on the forum I manage in exchange for commission. Since the forum belongs to the company, I didn't agree to it at the time. During lunch, I reflected on the matter and thought that product promotion could be a viable way for the forum to make money (the previous week, I had heard two webmaster friends talking about "Taokè," a term I wasn't familiar with, but it seemed to involve promoting products from Taobao and earning commission from transactions).
