However, in the wake of Vista's flop, many systems that were certified as "Vista Capable" turned out to be anything but. The process of vetting hardware for compatibility with new versions of Windows has taken on new complexity. You can't simply rely on Microsoft to provide a faithful assessment of what it takes to run Windows. And when the "Vista Capable" fiasco unfolded, Microsoft's partner PC vendors didn't fare much better than Microsoft itself.
