Lobsters are omnivorous. Under natural conditions, they mainly feed on organic debris, periphyton, filamentous algae, roots, leaves and fragments of aquatic plants. They particularly like juicy and tender green plants such as water hyacinth, water lettuce, Najas guadalupensis, duckweed and Vallisneria spiralis. Animal-based food includes aquatic earthworms, earthworms, eggs and pupae of aquatic insects, snails, mussels and fish meat. Under artificial farming conditions, compound feed, by-products of agricultural product processing (such as oil cakes, rice bran, wheat bran, etc.), by-products from slaughterhouses, various tender wild grasses, melons, fruits, and vegetable leaves can be fed to them.
