CCTV.com Sues Xunlei for $330,900 in Damages

Because it considered that Xunlei website had rebroadcast "Olympic Torch Relay" in real time without permission, CCTV International Network Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as CCTV International) filed a lawsuit against Shenzhen Xunlei Network Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Xunlei) and claimed for compensation of 2.1 million yuan.

Recently, the Second Intermediate People's Court of Shanghai has accepted this case. This is the first intellectual property infringement case involving the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Yesterday, CCTV International also filed the second Olympic-related intellectual property infringement lawsuit in Guangdong Intermediate People's Court. The defendant was Century Dragon, and the amount of compensation was 4.1 million yuan.
