In view of the positive significance of agency accounting business, in order to give full play to the role of agency accounting, when revising the Accounting Law in 1993, the "accounting by agency" clause was added. Units that are unable to separately establish an accounting organization or employ accountants for certain reasons are allowed to entrust relevant accounting service institutions to conduct agency accounting. Thus, the legal status of agency accounting business in China was established for the first time.
