Russia Rejects Georgia's Ceasefire Appeal

On the contrary, Russia emphasized that before any ceasefire agreement takes effect, Georgian forces must completely withdraw from South Ossetia. This means that Russia indirectly rejected the ceasefire appeal. Russia pointed out that Georgian forces are still present in South Ossetia, and their military operations continue.
According to other reports, the spokesperson for the Russian Defense Ministry announced on the 10th that the Russian Navy sank a Georgian missile speedboat in Abkhazian waters that day. A Russian general stated on August 11 that Russian troops do not intend to launch deep offensives into other areas of Georgia from the two regions of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, but demanded that Georgian forces near Abkhazia disarm.
