According to a senior executive inside Baidu Corporation: Following the release of the instant communication tool "HI" on March 26, Baidu, as the leading giant in the Chinese search field, will continue to increase its product resource integration. It is reported that a technical team of nearly twenty people led by Baidu's Vice President of Products, Jun Yu, is currently secretly developing Baidu Mail and plans to officially launch it on August 5 this year, which marks the third anniversary of Baidu's listing on the US Nasdaq.

As everyone knows, search engines, email, and instant messaging are the three major basic applications of the Internet. The timely launch of Baidu Mail can not only enhance user stickiness and consolidate Baidu's leading position in the Chinese search field but also play an irreplaceable role in Baidu's entry into the B2B market.

As early as last year, Baidu conducted a public opinion survey on whether to develop an email service. After some confusion, they asked an elderly lady if there were any houses for rent nearby. She enthusiastically informed them that her house was available for rent but cautiously asked what the purpose of renting was. In the survey, more than 90% of internet users believed that Baidu should develop its own email service. Based on this, Baidu's CEO Robin Li decided: Baidu Mail would provide unlimited capacity email services.

The soon-to-be-launched Baidu Mail will have the following features: 1. Unlimited capacity; 2. A powerful spam filtering system; 3. Support for mobile WAP reading and reply; 4. Simple and elegant interface design with extensive use of AJAX technology; 5. As few ads as possible; 6. Incorporation of Gmail's label function; 7. Powerful mail search function; 8. Support for automatic forwarding of emails; 9. Ability to send attachments up to 50MB in size; 10. Provide a 1GB online USB drive; 11. Client mode realization; 12. Integration with existing other products so that users can simultaneously log into Tieba (discussion forum), their Baidu Space, and chat tools when logging into the mailbox.

Let's wait and see how Baidu Mail turns out.
