In the tranquil and peaceful Peace Valley, a group of carefree and adorable animals live together. Among them is Po (voiced by Jack Black), a plump panda who works as a waiter in a noodle shop and is known for being lazy and fond of eating. However, he also harbors an extraordinary dream—to become the greatest kung fu master in China. Meanwhile, Master Shifu (voiced by Dustin Hoffman) is equally admired by the people. However, the arrival of Tai Lung (voiced by Ian McShane), a menacing snow leopard, poses an unprecedented threat to the peace of the valley. To quickly eliminate this menace, the residents of Peace Valley decide to gather heroes from all over and select the strongest warrior through a martial arts tournament to face the enemy.

By sheer coincidence, Po's knack for getting involved in everything leads the skilled masters—including Master Shifu (voiced by Dustin Hoffman), Monkey Master (voiced by Jackie Chan), Viper Master (voiced by Lucy Liu), Red-Crowned Crane Master (voiced by David Cross), Tigress Master (voiced by Angelina Jolie), and Mantis Master (voiced by Seth Rogen)—to believe that Po is the heaven-sent savior destined to save Peace Valley.

Thus, Po’s formerly lazy and indulgent life is replaced by the arduous task of daily kung fu training. Can the chubby panda ultimately achieve glory and defeat the formidable enemy...
