Zhejiang Online, July 24th report - While senior high school students were anxiously waiting for their university admission notices, two 10th-grade students from Guangdong Experimental High School, Yu Zelong and Li Yiran, have already received early admissions from Arizona State University in the United States. They will directly enter the undergraduate program at the university, with Yu Zelong also receiving a full scholarship for four years, becoming part of the first group of Chinese students admitted to a key American university through academic exchange.
In August last year, Yu Zelong and Li Yiran participated in the large-scale public welfare event, "The First Sino-US Space Youth Program." After a ten-month selection process that included online preliminary rounds, semi-finals, finals, and interviews in Beijing, the two stood out in areas such as space knowledge, model making, personal quality, and talent display. They were selected to join the national team of 15 participants for the Sino-US Space Youth Program, becoming the first Chinese middle school students to enter a U.S. confidential research lab and independently capture the first "microscopic" photograph of Mars.
