Fortune magazine of the United States announced on Wednesday the annual ranking of the world's top 500 enterprises. Walmart topped the list with a turnover of 378.799 billion US dollars. Previously, it had monopolized this position for many consecutive years. This time, 29 Chinese enterprises made the list, including two State-owned telecom enterprises, China Mobile and China Telecom, as well as Lenovo.
Affected by the soaring global oil prices, the rankings of oil enterprises have significantly improved. Of the top ten enterprises, five are oil companies. Besides oil enterprises and the No.1 ranked Walmart, the remaining ones are Toyota Motor, Chevron, ING Group and General Motors.
Three Chinese enterprises have entered the top 30. Among them, Sinopec ranked 16th, State Grid Corporation ranked 24th, and PetroChina ranked 25th.
This year, a total of 29 Chinese enterprises were selected. Among them, Lenovo ranked 499th with a total annual revenue reaching 16.788 billion US dollars. This is also the first time that Lenovo has made it to the Fortune Global 500.
