In July, Microsoft announced its "One Microsoft" internal restructuring plan, reorganizing the company into four major engineering departments as well as more unified marketing, legal, and human resources departments. However, according to ZDNet's MJ Foley citing anonymous sources, Microsoft's internal restructuring is still ongoing, with some departments continuing to change.

Reports indicate that the Outlook.com and Windows Mail, People, and Calendar application teams have now been merged into the Applications and Services group led by Qi Lu. Initially, during the announcement of the first phase of restructuring, these teams were part of the Operating Systems group. Additionally, there are reports suggesting that the Windows Mail and Calendar applications currently developed by the Windows department will eventually be replaced by the Outlook application in order to minimize user confusion.

It is unclear when these applications will be replaced. MJ Foley believes that first, Outlook needs to launch a Metro-style application, as it is currently only available as a desktop application.

Furthermore, according to MJ Foley, the Windows Embedded and embedded systems department, which originally belonged to the Server and Tools department, has now been integrated into Terry Myerson's Operating Systems group. However, Windows Server remains within the Enterprise and Cloud group led by Satya Nadella. The Perceptive Pixel software team, which was previously part of the Office department, has also now joined the Operating Systems group.
