According to the Wall Street Journal, Samsung Electronics Co. recently signed a three-year, $100 million sponsorship deal with the U.S. National Basketball Association (NBA). This means that for the next three years, all officially provided equipment such as tablets, TVs, and other devices used by coaches, players, and referees on the NBA sidelines will come from Samsung.
According to sources familiar with the matter, under the terms of the agreement, starting with the new NBA season on Tuesday, Samsung will supply both TVs and tablets to NBA arenas for use by coaches, players, and referees on the sidelines. The TVs will serve as slow-motion replay monitors for referees.
In addition to Samsung's devices being prominently featured in NBA arenas, the NBA will also provide customized advertising for Samsung products, promoting a variety of Samsung products, including TVs.
