Photos of the second-generation Google Glass have been released, and sure enough, users instantly transform into agents.

Google announced yesterday that all developers can get a free replacement for the second-generation glasses, and they can also invite three friends to purchase the second-generation glasses. Today, the physical devices were showcased. My speculation from yesterday about the "monaural earplug" leading to an agent-like appearance turned out to be correct. Fortunately, it appears that the earplug is not integrated with the glasses but is connected via a standard 3.5mm jack. This means that when you don't need to carefully listen to music (who would want to do that with just one ear?) or use bone conduction in noisy environments, you can still hear clearly and remove the headphones.

Agent Smith from "The Matrix" must think he's been resurrected again, successfully replicating a batch of new Smiths:

However, Google has yet to show what it looks like when the second-generation glasses are mounted on regular eyeglasses. It’s likely that photos will be released in a few days.

There are female agents as well:

Google didn’t mention any battery improvements, so it seems there won’t be any progress in this area. However, if bone conduction could be disabled and audio output solely through the headphones, perhaps a little more battery life could be saved?
