On October 29, according to reports from American media, data recently released by mobile app analytics company Localytics shows that while the iPhone 5s is much more popular than the iPhone 5c in other countries, the iPhone 5c enjoys significant popularity in the U.S. This conclusion was reached after the company surveyed over 40 million iPhone devices between September 20 and October 25.

Localytics pointed out that the gap between the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c continues to narrow. In the U.S., during the first few days of sales for the new iPhones, the sales ratio of the iPhone 5s to the iPhone 5c was 3.4:1; last week, this ratio dropped to 1.9:1. However, globally, the gap between the two models remains quite large, with a sales ratio of 2.3:1 for the iPhone 5s to the iPhone 5c.

This week, the mobile app analytics company examined the proportion of old and new iPhone models. According to Localytics, the global market shares for the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c are 3.8% and 1.7%, respectively. The iPhone 5 holds the largest share, nearing 40%; the iPhone 4s occupies nearly 33% of the market share.

Localytics also investigated the proportions of the two new iPhone models in major countries around the world. Germans seem to favor the iPhone 5s the most, with the iPhone 5s accounting for 87% of new iPhone activations in the country over the past month; China followed closely at 83%. However, in the U.S., the iPhone 5s has the lowest popularity, only making up 67%. Nevertheless, Japan sees the highest proportion of new iPhones compared to all other iPhone models, where either the iPhone 5s or the iPhone 5c accounts for approximately 10% of all iPhones in the country. According to Localytics, the global average is 5.5%, while in the U.S., this proportion stands at 6.4%. (Muxiulinn)
