Microsoft's post-Win8.1 plan: Another upgrade coming next spring

Now that Windows 8.1 has been released, what is Microsoft's next plan?

Based on the information available so far, Windows 8 will no longer have SP (Service Pack) updates, and Windows 8.1 is its first major update. There are reports that Microsoft is developing a second major update for Windows 8, which is expected to be released in the spring of 2014.

We know very little about the second update for Windows 8. One anticipated change within the industry is the merger of the Windows Store and the Windows Phone Store. In addition to unifying the desktop and mobile platforms, this move by Microsoft would also provide more opportunities for developers and offer more apps to consumers.

Of course, this spring update will definitely include some other new features, as well as performance improvements and interface refinements.

After that, it’s Windows 9. We’ve discussed this before; Windows 9 might possibly be introduced as early as November 2014, with an official release scheduled for 2015. With the rapid development of the IT industry, what jaw-dropping changes will Windows 9 bring? I can't wait to see.
