Prior foreign media reports widely speculated that the Nexus 5 would be officially released on either October 25th or October 28th. However, it now seems neither of these dates are reliable. The renowned leaker evleaks has just sent out two tweets with very simple content; the first one reads "Nexus 5, by LG", and the second one reads "n white. 11/1". Accompanying these were two official render photos of the Nexus 5. The only difference between the two phones in the images is their color.
Although this time the Nexus 5 comes directly with a white option, the white version only features a white back cover, while the front panel of the device remains black. This "panda-style" white might not be popular. Foreign media also conducted a voting survey about this, and the result showed that only 35% of consumers would accept this panda white, while over 60% of people prefer the pure black version of the Nexus 5.
The Nexus 5 will still be manufactured by LG. It features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB RAM, 16/32GB ROM, an 8-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization, a 5-inch 1080P HD display, the latest Android 4.4 system, but has a relatively small battery capacity of only 2300mAh.
