Would you like the appearance of Windows 9?

With Windows 8.1 already released, can Windows 9 be far behind? Various signs indicate that Microsoft may release the next generation operating system at some point between 2014 and 2015, clearly accelerating their pace.

What Windows 9 will look like is probably even unknown to Microsoft right now, but that doesn't stop us from imagining it. Miguel Cruz has designed a few concept images of Windows 9 with a completely flat design style.

He retained the classic Windows desktop and the new Metro UI interface, but both have shifted towards a flatter design and have been reimagined to align with Microsoft's and the industry’s modern concepts. This includes a larger lock screen, the classic desktop returning to a traditional style with a new taskbar and Start button, a new Start menu and tiles, as well as an entirely new File Explorer (with one-click access to libraries and a search bar).

Interestingly, when opening windows such as File Explorer, the desktop icons in the background become blurred.
