Lumia 1520 Screen Unveiled: More Than Just Bigger

When it comes to the screen of Nokia's latest flagship phone, the Lumia 1520, what comes to mind? A 6-inch display, 1080p resolution? All of these are correct, but they're not enough to fully describe it. According to foreign media reports, the Lumia 1520 screen is not only large in size, but also boasts an excellent outdoor visibility effect.

It is understood that the Lumia 1520 is the first smartphone to adopt Assertive Display technology. Simply put, this technology has excellent screen management functions, capable of significantly enhancing screen visibility outdoors without affecting battery life.

Existing smartphones all come equipped with light sensors that can adjust screen brightness based on lighting conditions. However, under Assertive Display technology, screen brightness does not change, thus not placing a burden on battery life. More importantly, Assertive Display can also make real-time adjustments to the color and brightness of each pixel individually, and the entire process of change happens very quickly.

Of course, theory alone is hard to be convincing. Foreign tech media has already conducted on-site tests comparing the Lumia 1520 with the iPhone 5 and Galaxy Note 3, evaluating how these three phones adapt to different lighting conditions.

The test results show that the Lumia 1520 indeed offers better visibility in daylight compared to the other two flagship phones: as the surrounding light gradually changes from weak to strong, the Lumia 1520 can still perfectly display screen text.
