On October 24, according to The Next Web, Yahoo! announced today the acquisition of image recognition startup LookFlow, which provides users with content for discovering, exploring, collecting, and sharing images. The company claims to have some of the most advanced artificial intelligence technology in the U.S., calling it "a revolution in online exploration and discovery."

This means that Yahoo! is most interested in LookFlow's learning algorithms. The company specializes in image algorithms, and Yahoo! plans to integrate this technology into Flickr to enhance its search and content discovery experience features. Yahoo! stated that they will incorporate LookFlow's five outstanding engineers and their technology into the Flickr team in San Francisco, but this is only part of the work; the startup will also help Yahoo! establish a new deep learning group.

LookFlow's official website also posted an official statement, with the company looking forward to its product appearing in "future versions of Flickr."
