According to a report from The Verge, earlier this week Microsoft bundled some popular mobile websites as applications for Windows Phone. The purpose of Microsoft's move is to enhance the mobile user experience and also encourage Windows Phone developers, hoping that developers will create more high-quality native applications on their platform.
However, Microsoft has already pulled three apps: Southwest, Cars.com, and Atari Arcade. Whether these apps will return to the Windows Phone platform is uncertain, but it is certain that at least one app was pulled due to a lawsuit filed by its creator.
A spokesperson for Southwest stated in a declaration to Neowin: "We discussed the bundling of our website with Microsoft, but we did not authorize them to release it. Once Microsoft realized that the discussion was still in its infancy and no authorization had been given, they removed our product from the App Store."
