After a restructuring of power among the senior management, HTC held an internal staff meeting yesterday. The CEO Peter Chou admitted for the first time that HTC would launch products below 1000 yuan targeting the China market, and its market share goal for the high-end market is 15%.

Chou said that the demand for low-end products under 1000 yuan is large, and in the future HTC will develop suitable products facing the China market.

In response to employees' question on whether HTC would emulate Apple and outsource manufacturing, Chou said that HTC does not rule out seeking external cooperation, provided that it has been carefully evaluated. The company operates in different stages, and HTC is willing to remain flexible. In the future, HTC will allow marketing and customer service to have better integration.

Yesterday's HTC internal employee meeting was attended by 7000~8000 employees, and Chairwoman Cher Wang reiterated her support for Peter Chou at the meeting, calling Chou the best CEO.
