According to IDC statistics, Apple's (AAPL) Mac computer shipments in the U.S. dropped significantly by 11% year-over-year in the third quarter.

In the third quarter, the top five PC manufacturers in terms of U.S. shipments were HP, Dell, Apple, Lenovo, and Toshiba. Apart from Apple, the other four manufacturers all experienced growth in shipments compared to the same period last year. Lenovo saw the largest increase at 25.8%, followed by Toshiba with a 14.4% increase, while HP and Dell grew by 3.5% and 2.3%, respectively.

Apple's Mac computers saw a significant 11.2% year-over-year decline in U.S. shipments in the third quarter, reaching 1.906 million units, with market share decreasing from 13% last year to 11.6%.

Given that the personal computer business represents an increasingly smaller portion of Apple's revenue, the capital market reacted indifferently to this news. Apple's stock price remained largely unchanged in after-hours trading. During regular trading hours, Apple closed at $486.59, up 1.17%.
