Samsung has officially announced its curved smartphone, the Galaxy Round. One of the major selling points of the curve is the so-called "Roll Effect," which allows users to gently tap one side of the phone to tilt the device and display information with a rolling effect (as shown in the video).
The curved design makes it easier to operate with one hand. The hardware specifications of the Galaxy Round are identical to those of the phablet Note 3: a 5.7-inch 1080p display, a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB of RAM, and a 13-megapixel camera. The Galaxy Round will first be sold in South Korea, with no announcement yet regarding its availability in other regions. Its retail price in South Korea exceeds $1000.
