Microsoft allows open source projects hosted on CodePlex to use the GPLv3 license.

In Microsoft's eyes, the GPLv3 license has changed from "evil" to "acceptable." Microsoft's open-source project hosting platform, CodePlex, has started allowing open-source projects to use the GPLv3 license. CodePlex provides developers with a series of open-source or free software licenses, such as Apache 2.0, Simplified BSD, GPLv2, Mozilla Public License 2, and several open-source licenses developed by Microsoft itself; however, GPLv3 was not among them previously. Open-source developers had called on Microsoft to include the GPLv3 license as early as 2008, but it wasn't until this month that Microsoft added GPLv3 to its list of open-source licenses, meeting the needs of developers. In 2007, after the Free Software Foundation released GPLv3, Microsoft publicly stated that it did not support GPL v3. It is currently unclear why Microsoft has changed its stance on GPLv3.
