Microsoft recently announced that the daily transaction volume of the WP platform has exceeded 9 million, including app purchases and in-app purchases. At the same time, Microsoft also announced a change in the developer policy, significantly reducing the waiting period for developers to receive their share of app revenue from Microsoft.
Previously, Microsoft only paid developers their corresponding share after receiving the operator's bill, but this sometimes meant developers had to wait up to 120 days to receive payment. As a result, Microsoft adjusted its developer policy, promising to pay developers their share of app revenue within 30 days.
Data published by Microsoft shows that compared to markets where billing is handled by operators, developers on the open market earn three times as much per active user. This data was derived from surveys conducted in 26 different regions.
In addition, Microsoft stated that they have partnered with some third-party advertising platforms, which will bring more ads to the WP platform in the future. By the end of September, Microsoft will assign a unique ID to each WP device for use by third-party networks on the WP platform. However, this ID will not be linked to user personal information, and users will have the option to choose whether or not to accept services from third-party networks on their devices.
