After going through multiple rounds of negotiations, Microsoft finally acquired Nokia, and many people attribute this "feat" to Stephen Elop. But why did Microsoft feel the urgent need to acquire Nokia?
Today, The New York Times reported that the reason Microsoft hurried to acquire Nokia was primarily because Nokia had been secretly testing a Lumia phone running on the Android system internally. Moreover, Nokia had planned to launch it in 2014.
Obviously, this was something Microsoft did not want to see. If they successfully took over Nokia, the latter would become entirely their subsidiary and would no longer release phones based on the Android platform.
Don't you all think it's a bit of a pity?
