Apple has recently accelerated its pace of patent applications in Hong Kong. As early as last month, Apple obtained 22 related patents in Hong Kong. After entering August, Apple continued to make progress, obtaining 27 design patents in just ten days, including 15 at the beginning of the month and 12 on the 9th.

The 12 patents obtained on the 9th are all related to the Lightning connector, including its appearance and cable design, etc. In the patent diagrams, we can see parts marked with solid and dashed lines, where only the parts marked with solid lines are within the scope of patent protection. Apple uses this method to protect various aspects of the Lightning connector.

Is this a move to crack down on knock-offs?
