Several internet services of Apple Inc. experienced access failures, with some users unable to access the company's digital store and FaceTime video chat service.

As of 3:45 PM Eastern Time on Wednesday, the FaceTime failure persisted, with many users unable to make video calls through the service. This issue with FaceTime began at 1 PM local time.

Earlier on Wednesday, Apple's digital store also encountered a downtime fault that lasted about two and a half hours. During this period, some users were unable to shop via the App Store, iTunes music store, Mac App Store, and iBookStore e-book store.

In addition, this failure prevented users from downloading previously purchased content, using the iTunes Match application recommendation service, or restoring apps and music from the iCloud cloud storage service.

Users can check the status of Apple's various services and digital stores through the company's official system status page.
