Facebook today announced that Graph Search is now officially open to all English users. Regardless of whether you're a user based in the U.S., as long as you set the language of your Facebook page to English (US), you can activate Graph Search.
When using Graph Search, users are able to search for relevant people, places, and things using natural language, though currently it only supports English queries. For example, you can use English to find out which of your friends live in the same city as you and also enjoy watching *The IT Crowd*.
The information flow of user-generated content on Facebook (News Feed), social behaviors recorded on Timeline, and various pieces of information shared via the Like button embedded on third-party websites that support the Open Graph API, all constitute the primary sources of information for Graph Search.
In January this year, Mark Zuckerberg stated during the launch of Graph Search that it would form one of the three pillars of Facebook's ecosystem, alongside News Feed and Timeline. Additionally, Graph Search is still in a very early stage, and it will be a long-term systematic project.
