Being outdoors under the scorching sun is evidently not an ideal office environment, unless you are using a computer that can directly convert solar energy into electricity, just like the Sol which runs on Ubuntu.

This computer was mainly developed to assist power-deficient developing countries. For this purpose, it is equipped with solar panels on its body; simply opening these panels allows for direct conversion of solar energy into electricity.

According to OMG Ubuntu, the manufacturer of this computer, WeWi Electronics Communications Company from Canada claims that Sol's battery can ensure up to ten hours of laptop operation, and it only takes two hours to fully charge via solar power.

Currently, there isn't much information available about this device from its official website, but based on our accidental findings, the Sol computer will be equipped with an Intel processor, HD screen, and support Wi-Fi connectivity. Additionally, in terms of network connections, Sol also offers the option of satellite mode connection.

Although information about this device is still limited, according to the countdown on its official website, there are only two days left until its official release. According to reports, Ghana will be the first to receive the first batch of Sol computers at a price of $300 per unit (approximately 1838 RMB). Considering the configuration of this computer, this price is not particularly low, but it is still much cheaper than Samsung's solar-powered notebook launched in 2011.
