Everyone can build an app – introducing Windows Phone App Studio beta
Today, Microsoft launched the web-based Windows Phone development tool, Windows Phone App Studio. This development tool is designed for users with "no experience," and can be accessed via a browser to start using Windows Phone App Studio. The entire process is very simple: log in to your account, follow the wizard to input the required information and content, and complete the "development" in just four steps.
It's worth noting that Windows Phone App Studio provides some basic application templates, or you can start from a blank app – data sources that can be added include images, YouTube videos, RSS, and Twitter feeds; you can also choose the app style and tile colors. Moreover, if you don't have any development background but want to create a Windows Phone app for a blog or news website, App Studio can quickly generate an app through RSS.
For professional developers, this tool can be used for rapid prototyping, and the code can be exported to continue development in Visual Studio.
Windows Phone App Studio is currently in the Beta stage and has been optimized for Internet Explorer 10. Microsoft will soon introduce full support for Live Tiles.
