After 10 beta versions, Firefox 23 is officially released today. Firefox 23 is based on the Gecko 23 engine and adds a mixed content blocking feature, providing stronger security protection. On Mac OS X 10.7 and newer versions, it supports bounce-back when the page reaches the top or bottom, and offers a new scroll bar style. Additionally, Firefox 23 follows current trends by adopting a flattened logo.

New features in Firefox 23:

1. Mixed content lock mode (i.e., blocking insecure content when secure and insecure content are mixed together), effectively preventing man-in-the-middle attacks and eavesdropping on HTTP pages.

2. Added navigation animations, touch rebound, and a new scrollbar style for Mac OS X 10.7 and newer versions.

3. Improved search engine settings; the search engine selected in the search box will be applied throughout the browser.

4. The options for "automatically load images," "enable JavaScript," and "always show the tab bar" have been removed from the settings interface.

5. DXVA2 has been enabled for Windows Vista and later versions, which will accelerate H.264 video decoding.

6. Enhanced the functional UI of about:memory.

7. Simplified the plugin installation interface.
