Sina and the NBA jointly announced in Beijing this morning that Sina has officially become the official internet partner and the official online community partner of NBA China. This is the third time both parties have joined forces after signing a strategic cooperation agreement in 2010.
It is understood that Sina and the NBA will carry out in-depth cooperation in three aspects: mobile game watching, community interaction, and video live streaming. They plan to use high-quality NBA game resources to create two sets of game-watching platforms on the portal site and Weibo, comprehensively covering various mobile terminals such as iPhone, Android, tablet computers, and WAP.
This strategic cooperation between the two parties mainly includes nine aspects: NBA network game reporting, NBA game information on mobile Sina.com, NBA game network video live streaming and on-demand, NBA game mobile end video live streaming and on-demand, NBA original video programs, operation of the Chinese official website of the NBA and the official Weibo account of the NBA, development of online leisure games, marketing, and social e-commerce.
According to the cooperation agreement, the cooperation between Sina and the NBA will cover Sina.com, Sina Weibo, mobile Sina.com, Sina Sports client, etc., setting a record. NBA fans in China will be able to watch NBA live broadcasts and on-demand exciting game videos synchronously on any platform.
Starting from the 2013-2014 season, Sina will provide more than 400 NBA game video live streams for two consecutive seasons for NBA fans in China, including exclusive video live streams of one selected regular-season game every day from Monday to Sunday, exclusive video live streams of the 2014 New Orleans All-Star Weekend, exclusive video live streams of all games in the Eastern and Western Conference Finals and the Finals, as well as video live streams of the summer league, pre-season games, and seven first-round and second-round playoff games each week.
