When Apple unveiled iOS 7 at this year's WWDC, it also took away most iOS developers' "summer vacation." It can be said that, whether in terms of the interface or interaction, iOS 7 is very different from previous iOS systems.
A recent survey by Craig Hockenberry, developer of The Iconfactory's Twitterrific, involving 575 iOS developers, showed that 95% of developers are creating software to support iOS 7. At the same time, 52% of developers indicated that their new software will only support iOS 7 (as shown in the figure above).
Craig Hockenberry stated that due to significant changes in the interface and interaction of iOS 7, both in depth and breadth, current applications appear "old and cumbersome." Therefore, developing new applications for the all-new iOS 7 has become the top priority for developers at present.
Apple plans to release the official version of iOS 7 this fall, which may coincide with the launch of new versions of the iPhone, a cheaper version of the iPhone, iPad, and iPad mini.
