Apple products are well-known for their high-quality design and attention to detail. Many of these details go unnoticed by the average Apple user, or are only used by a few. Some features are just for operational convenience, others purely for aesthetics. But Apple still strives for perfection in these details. Below are the best designs that enhance Apple products.
1. Smart fan: When using the voice dictation function on new Apple laptops, Apple automatically slows down the internal fans' speed so it can hear your voice more clearly.
2. "Breathing" sleep light: Apple patented its "personal breathing LED indicator" back in 2002. The sleep mode indicator mimics the rhythm of breathing with a flashing effect.
3. Simulated real reflection: If you open the music app on your iPhone and start playing a song, look at the volume slider's metal-textured volume adjustment buttons. The gloss on the knobs reflects differently as you tilt your phone.
4. Hidden magnets: Before Apple integrated the iSight camera into the iMac, there was a hidden magnet around the top of the bezel. This magnet held the iSight firmly attached to the top of the computer. The magnet on the side bezel of the iMac also held the Apple remote securely.
5. Quick access: Apple laptops have a special groove at the front edge, allowing them to be easily opened with just one finger.
6. Smart Caps Lock key: If you hit the "Caps Lock" key on every MacBook Air (and all new MacBook Pros), nothing happens. The Caps Lock will only turn on if the key is pressed for a longer duration, preventing accidental incorrect keystrokes.
7. Hidden Hi-Fi sound card: For audio and video professionals using an optical adapter, Apple has integrated a high-fidelity TOSLINK port. Just plug in the optical adapter, and the MacBook Pro will automatically switch to TOSLINK, providing higher fidelity and clearer sound quality.
8. Little "eclipse": When you activate "Do Not Disturb" mode, a "new moon" rises on the screen. This icon itself isn't much, but when you repeatedly turn it on and off, you'll notice a small lunar eclipse animation.
9. Predictive "Store" button: Originally, when you played a song with the iPhone music app, returning to the previous level by pressing the menu button was somewhat "risky." You often accidentally touched the adjacent iTunes Store button, causing iTunes to pop up suddenly. Now, when returning via the menu, clicking the "Store" button won't open the iTunes Store.
