According to TC, Amazon launched a Pinterest-like service today called Amazon Collections. The service entry is located in the Your Account drop-down menu on the homepage, but this service is not available on the Chinese version of the website. TC pointed out that Amazon Collections has actually been tested for a short period on some blogs, and this is the first time it has appeared on the Amazon homepage.
The content and style of Amazon Collections are similar to Pinterest. Users can place products they are interested in on corresponding pages with a waterfall layout design in the form of stickers. The biggest difference from Pinterest is that all product content on Amazon Collections comes from Amazon's own inventory, and external site products cannot currently be included, which sets the tone for Amazon Collections as a shopping guide.
Unlike previous features such as the "wish list," Amazon Collections incorporates social attributes. Users can follow each other, share their preferences, and view each other's shares. As an online retail e-commerce giant, if Amazon's new attempt is successful, it may trigger a wave of mergers and acquisitions between e-commerce companies and image-based social platforms.
