This morning in Beijing, China Mobile released a series of self-branded products. These included two smartphones, the M701 and M601, the self-branded MiFi CM512, and a self-branded power bank.
As rumored earlier, the M601 features a 4-inch screen with a resolution of 800x480 pixels, powered by a 1.2GHz Marvell PXA988 dual-core processor. It offers a 3-megapixel rear camera and a 1500mAh battery, running on Android 4.2. The device is manufactured by Hisense and priced at RMB 499.
Also unveiled was the M701, whose specifications matched previous rumors. It sports a 5-inch 720p screen, powered by a 1.2GHz MT6589 quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM. It provides an 8-megapixel main camera (with a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera) and a 2000mAh battery, running on Android 4.2.1. However, its price is significantly higher than the rumored RMB 999, set at RMB 1299. The device is manufactured by BYD.
In addition, both phones will be available for sale later this month. Besides supporting the TD-SCDMA network, they also come pre-installed with several services from China Mobile, such as the unique voice service "Lingxi" developed by iFlytek.
Regarding the self-branded Mi-Fi CM512, it was showcased at the MWC conference in February this year. It uses the Qualcomm MDM9215 platform and supports five communication modes: TD-LTE, LTE FDD, TD-SCDMA, WCDMA, and GSM. It has an operational duration of 8 hours (with a battery capacity of 3000mAh). Meanwhile, the self-branded power bank features an aluminum alloy unibody shell with a capacity of 4400mAh, supporting simultaneous charging and discharging, manufactured by Desay.
