LinkedIn announced its second quarter results today, reporting revenues of $363.7 million, representing a 59% increase year-over-year. Net income reached $3.7 million, a 32% increase compared to the same period last year.
In terms of business segments, LinkedIn's recruitment solutions generated revenues of $205.1 million in Q2, up 69% year-over-year and accounting for 56% of total revenue. Marketing solutions brought in $85.6 million, up 36% year-over-year, contributing 24% of total revenue. Premium subscription services contributed $73 million in revenue, up 68% year-over-year and making up 20% of total revenue.
By region, U.S.-based revenue was $224.3 million, representing 62% of total revenue. International revenue amounted to $139.4 million, or 38% of total revenue.
In the second quarter, revenue from field sales channels was $209.2 million, accounting for 58% of total revenue. Revenue from online and direct sales channels was $154.4 million, representing 42% of total revenue.
As of the end of the second quarter, LinkedIn had 238 million members, reflecting a 37% year-over-year increase.
For the third quarter, LinkedIn expects revenue to be in the range of $367-$373 million, with EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) forecasted between $81-$83 million. For the full year 2013, LinkedIn projects revenue to be in the range of $1.455-$1.475 billion.
