Tencent's lawsuit against 360 for "unfair competition" was announced today. Zhang Xuejun, the presiding judge of Guangdong Higher People's Court, declared that Qihoo 360 was found guilty of unfair competition, but Tencent's requested compensation of 1.25 billion RMB for economic loss did not have sufficient basis.The specific judgment is as follows: 1) Qihoo Company is required to pay a compensation of 5 million yuan; 2) Qihoo Company must publish an apology on its homepage and in other media's prominent positions continuously for 15 days; 3) The court rejected Tencent's other litigation requests; 4) Of the litigation costs amounting to 4,666,800 yuan, Tencent will bear 166,800 yuan, while Qihoo will bear 500,000 yuan.Qihoo's lawyer expressed on the spot that they will appeal the decision.On March 28th, Qihoo 360's lawsuit against Tencent for abuse of market dominance was decided in the first instance by Guangdong Higher People's Court. The court rejected all of 360's claims, with litigation costs of 790,680 yuan to be borne by 360. Subsequently, 360 appealed to the Supreme Court.
